The picture was too big and I didn't feel like fiddling with it, but here are links:
From ESPN MLB 2K5, here are Wilkerson, Ponson, and Palmeiro part I and part II.
I also stumbled on this shot of RFK from EA's MVP Baseball 2005. I'm not endorsing either one until I have played them or I get some crazy Armstong Williams-type money from EA or ESPN.

Assuming that the two screenshots are of the same personnel, it's Wilkerson.
If you look at the pickoff throw shot, you can see the number on the back of the jersey is 6, which was Wilkerson's number last year.
Of course, Jose Guillen also wore 6 last year, in Anaheim. But the screenshot is clearly a white player, so I'm comfortable assuming it's Kentucky Brad.
Awesome! I was waiting for something like this.
I haven't purchased a baseball game since High Heat, which went kaput a year or two ago; I liked the realism in gameplay and simulation.
Anyway, needless to say I am going to get a game and play that thing into the ground with a Nats season (Nick Johnson will _not_ be traded in my world), and this has really pumped me up.
By the way, in the screenshot above, Ponson (neck up, at least) looks like Cal Ripken, and Palmeiro looks like one of the stubborn Chicago cops convinced of Richard Kimball's guilt in "The Fugitive."
Good catch, Yuda.
I'm going to need a game for this year as well, but I don't know if it'll be the ESPN or EA one. I guess I'll wait to see the reaction when they come out.
Being stat-minded folks, you might be interested in Out of the Park Baseball. It's good stuff. Simulated games, mostly from the GM seat, but you can take in-game control as well.
The one downside is that they don't have MLBPA licensing, so real names don't come pre-packaged with the game. But, the restrictions the MLBPA puts on games are pretty lame anyway, and you can download roster sets to get the real players.
I notice they've got a demo of last year's version (OOTP6) out. It's worth the download.
Stay away from the EA game. I bought that last year and it bit the big one. Yeah, it was fun to play, but the day-to-day management--which I love best--left a lot to be desired. (I think I need a few more cliches in that paragraph.)
I haven't played OOTP since version 4. That was a lot of fun. And there's an active modding community that makes plenty of new rosters--including full minor league rosters that progress nicely.
I'm still a big fan of Diamond Mind. Yeah, it's a little expensive and it's nothing but text. But you can't beat the realism.
Hint: <img src=whatever width=400>. Then wrap it in a link to let people click on it for a larger image.
My past experience with EA Sports games is frustration beyond belief. The gameplay is just so nonsensical at times; for instance, there was this automatic cut-shot in NBA Live a few years ago that just drove me up a krunkin' wall---every time you'd block a shot out of bounds (frequently, considering the arcade-like gameplay), it would follow to a cut-shot of your player complaining to the referee that it wasn't off of him last, with the inane announcer in agreement. And you couldn't turn the damned thing off!
And EA's baseball games---unless they've changed since about 2001 or so---are just homer-fests.
Oh, and ESPN's stuff is now $20. Hi-ho!
Chris -- OOTP6 uses DIPS.
At any rate, the upcoming version (OOTP:FE) looks to be a lot better than previous ones in terms of behind-the-scenes stuff. Better database management and whatnot, plus better usability and an improved interface.
My take on Diamond Mind is that it's great for replays but not good for doing a career league like OOTP allows. Can you even use fictional players in DM?
Yeah, DM is primarily for replays... simply because it's such a pain in the buttocks to input new teams/players.
I have last year's EA Baseball. It's not the homerfest that Triple Play used to be. It's got a very unique pitching system, which was fun to use.
I really like signings/trades/drafts, that sorta thing. While EA has some of those, it's not very realistic.
The OOTP versions I've played definitely were great for that.
Did any of you every play Front Page Sports Baseball? I have the old disk, but it won't work with XP. Damnit. I LOVED that game. Probably my favorite non-High Heat baseball game.
